This week was based in a beautiful city that had a very Spanish feel. We got all of Monday afternoon to explore the downtown of the city after meeting the mayor of the city and a tour of the main square. It was so fun to just explore the little small crevices and listen to the music floating through the streets. My family is a mother and her two sons (17 and 13). Her husband was only with us for the weekend because he works out of town. My mom was just learning English, so her and I spoke quite a bit of Spanish and English mixed together (my Spanish has gotten pretty good by this point!) Carlos, the younger brother, had a lot of questions for me and spoke pretty good English, but it was still fun to teach him even more. The older one, Luis is big into futbol (soccer to us Americans) and they are both very much into their XBOX. Some things just don't change across cultures. This is now my third week in a row being with out a roommate, and as great as the family is, I wish I could get to know more of my cast mates as well.
For host family day we went to a city called San Miguel. It was beautiful and very quaint. We saw a lot of amazing architecture and music floating through the streets from the church.

My favorite church of the whole tour!
